The Most Powerful Tool in Your Business
Your mind and those of your team are the most powerful tools in your business, both for good and for not so good. As the quotes above say, how you think about things is a massive influence on how you behave. The brain is a computer and expert research has shown that we often use less than 20% of the capability of our mind. How much more do you think you could achieve if you used even an extra 10% of that capability?
Like a computer memory, your mind is only as good as the information you feed it, along with the various programs you have installed into it. On a computer it is Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. In your brain it is Habits, Skills, Philosophy and Beliefs. The worrying thing is that, so often, these are installed without us realising it, and sometimes they are installed by other people: our colleagues, our parents, our family, the television, the radio, the government, and many more. How many of your thoughts and feelings are controlled by external influences? IT experts will tell you what a pain in the butt it is to remove viruses from computers, so how much of a challenge do you think it would be to remove the negative beliefs, habits, philosophies and skills we have learned in our lives up to now?
The simple answer is that unless you take some time to acknowledge that you have some negative traits, you will never get rid of them.
In business it is:
Beliefs like ‘I am not a sales person’;
Habits like ‘not doing my invoicing because I am too busy’;
Philosophies like ‘I want to be successful, but I can’t charge that much!’
Skills like PROCRASTINATION – how many of you have perfected that one?
What differentiates people like you and me, from Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Tony Robbins and many more, is that they think and act differently. They don’t have a better brain, they just use it better and act on their thoughts to create results. I believe that there are only two types of results – good ones and lessons.? If you choose to treat results differently, you are opening yourself up to all sorts of negative time stealers, for example how many people do you know in life and business who lose hours and even days in a ‘pity party’? Like Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket we all have a little voice in our head offering a commentary on what happens in our lives. Why not give it a name? I call mine Bernard, and when it is giving me negative advice I just say “Shut up Bernard, I’m getting on with things.” Feel free to choose your own name.
In life and in business you can achieve amazing things and influence the world around you for good; you just need to believe it and ACT on it.
At Maximum Profit Growth, we know that it is by influencing change in the four areas of skills, habits, beliefs and philosophy you will make enormous changes to the way you do business, and the way your team does business.
Depending on where you read, it according to either Albert Einstein or Benjamin Franklin, the definition of insanity is “Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Which parts of your business are INSANE?
Wherever you are, and wherever you want to go, we can help you to get there, think of Maximum Profit Growth as your sat-nav to business success.
