There are three very useful marketing tools to kick start your marketing, with the aim to get and keep new customers

  1. Face to face: It’s vital you spend time with your customers in person whenever possible. This tells them how much you value them, because you are will to give them that important commodity, your time. You use this time to build the relationship and continuously add value to it.
  2. Follow up communication: Add massive value to the relationship by following up every meeting with a summary of your meeting. Whether that is any new agreements you have made, new partnerships, referrals or even to confirm your gratitude for their time and their business. Additionally, thank you cards and small tokens of your gratitude help you to keep adding to the emotional bank account.
  3. Phone call: Use a telephone call to follow up with them to discuss again the matters you talked about in your meeting and offer any assistance you can to help their business run smoothly and more successfully.

None of these will work if you don’t have a quality product/service to back you up!

Here are the key steps for putting together your kick start marketing tools:

  1. Research potential customers, buyers, competitors and their preferred methods of distribution.
  2. Talk to potential customers. Take a hard, honest review of your product from your customer’s viewpoint and review what needs to change to make it more successful.
  3. Continuously work with your 3-step process from above.
  4. Create systems for customer relationship management, where you can measure and review your quality control standards and customer service.
  5. Develop post-sale communication system to ensure your continuous communication with your customers and build on your current relationship. This will increase your opportunities future purchases.
