I attended my first Taekwondo class last night with Taylor my 6 year old son as I decided that it is time to do an activity together. My goal is to improve my health and fitness, while my goal for Taylor it is to improve his discipline. My 8 year old daughter Lily will be joining us next week, my goal for her is to build on her self confidence.
It was very obvious to me after one session that I have a long way to go to get to the level of fitness I require, but as anything in life you want to achieve you have to start with that first step. Like somebody once said “You climb Everest one step at a time”.
I love the basic value of Taekwondo; that of respect, in addition to learning to defend yourself and learning how to enhance the focus and concentration of the mind.
When I arrived home, after signing us all up, with our licenses and doboks (suit) I was really inspired by the words on the back of the ?packet and felt that sharing them could work for others.
Have an old injury?
STOP THE EXCUSES!
Stop dreaming of what you could have been
Stop telling the same old stories because it changes nothing!
AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
Sell your TV
Stop being pushed about!
Stop listening to people who say you will never make it!
And BE SOMEBODY!
It’s your life
Only you can say “you can’t”
And you don’t have to listen!
How true are those words for so many people? Living their lives looking for the next excuse or living their lives by other peoples’ opinions.
IT IS YOUR LIFE – Live the one YOU choose.
Thank you to Mr Nicholson of ProAction Martial Arts and Life Skills for the Introduction, I am looking forward to great results.
